"The place was located in an amazing area 3 hours by car from Toronto. The cottage was exactly as described in the web site. It was clean, well equipped and we got all the information in advance. The cottage has a private beach on the lake with water equipment provided by the property. There is also an amazing hot tub. The communication with management team has been perfect. "Our second vacation at Cardinal Pines was as wonderful as last year! The rainy days didn't stop the grandkids from dancing on the deck & reminded me of the lazy, rainy days of my youth. The location allows for short excursions to Haliburton's sculpture park & fire tower; & Rhubarb Restaurant provided the perfect setting, for a fine dining dinner "date night". "Eric’s place was perfect for our two families of ten. We enjoyed a bonfire and sitting around the huge kitchen table while cooking together in the kitchen. The basement was perfect for all ten of us to cozy up by the wood stove. We also enjoyed a wonderful sunny day on the upper deck watching our adult kids throw some horseshoes. "The cottage is perfect for larger group of 8 to 10 people. Very clean and well maintained. The view from the deck is amazing, our group was super excited for the morning coffee on the deck, watching the sun coming up and enjoying the silence. The dock is one the largest on this lake, very nice to relax in sun after a swim . As advertised, the cottage was equipped with everything needed for our stay: kitchen fully equipped, canoe, kayak, paddle boat and paddle board, firewood, a lot of patio furniture, games, tv with Shaw (a lot of channels, we were able to watch Olympics) etc. We were lucky to have temperatures around 25C so nights were perfect. But last day and night was really hot so we used the ceiling fan and a couple of fans provided in the cottage and temperature was perfect. So not having AC was not an issue at all. And there is always the option to stay in the family room on lower level and cool down. Property manager is 2 min away in case you need him. Very helpful and friendly.. Overall, we didn't have any complaints...just that the week went too fast. We will definitely return!" (Corina C, August 2021)

"This place is amazing. Photos do no justice, must see for yourself. The lake is crystal clear and few steps from the cottage. Big property with lots of space and very cozy, home like feeling. Comfortably accommodated the whole family. Everything is as it looks like in the pictures, fully equipped to suit your needs and the friendly cottage manager Randy, who made himself available at our disposal and is located close by. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and definitely would come back in the future. "Eric’s place was even better than the pictures. We thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs deck and all outdoor amenities, including the kayaks, canoe and paddle board. The lake was perfect for cooling off from the 30 degree heat we had all weekend. From the bedrooms to the kitchen, the cottage was outfitted with everything we needed for a large group to spend four days comfortably. Although there is no AC, the host provided a plethora of fans that kept everyone in our group cool in their bedrooms at night. "We hosted a Women's Wilderness Prayer Retreat at the Cardinal Pines Cottage and the accommodation, the facilities, the grounds, the customer service was beyond amazing. From booking to arrival was a seamless process. Prompt responses to queries and the willingness to accommodate any special request was well received. "Amazing place! The whole cottage was very clean when we arrived. Great amenities including hot tub, kayak, canoe, paddle board, paddle boat. Breathtaking view from the dock! The pictures are 100% accurate. The owner (Eric) was very accommodating, very friendly and always quick to respond and help. Also, there was a designated person (Randy) always around for help. Randy is a super nice guy who lives about 5 mins away from the cottage. He was very helpful and came over right away to help when I called. "Wonderful waterfront for swimming, paddleboat, canoeing and fishing. Cottage was very clean, well furnished and the kitchen well stocked with everything we needed. "My family (three grown children and four grandchildren) and extended family (85 year young mother, sister & brother in law) have been renting cottages in ON & QC for several years now and the Cardinal Pines is by far the best we have ever stayed at, in fact it was the first time my family requested that I re-book the same cottage for 2020. Everything was perfect, from the size, number of bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, living room, huge deck, awesome view of Hall Lake, lower level rooms, games, etc. The location was excellent as it was just a three + hour drive for everyone coming from various parts of ON. The onsite property manager and his wife were so helpful and made sure that everything was good and there were no issues or concerns. The price of the cottage is a bit high but the quality, amenities, are all four +, and I understand the kitchen is being renovated for next season, bonus :). "My friends and I have rented a cottage for a 3 nights stay to get away from our daily work routines in Toronto. We were a young group with 5 couples. Well, I can say it was definitely worth it! The cottage was extremely clean with lots of space and beautiful views. The property also had lots of space to eat inside but as we preferred to mostly stay outside there was a big table located at the back of the building with a lake view. We also enjoyed canoeing as well as the jacuzzi on site. The wood was also provided which was much needed for the fire as the nights were very cold. During our stay the weather was also a bit rainy so the football and air hockey table was a great activity for all of us. "6 of my friends and I stayed with Cardinal Pines at the beginning of May to celebrate the end of a grueling school year before we all went off to different countries for summer jobs. The cottage was superb, a true home-away from home with all the luxuries, small and large, that truly make a difference during a vacation. It was too cold to use the lake, but the hot tub was perfect and a few us were even able to go out canoeing on halls lake. Would highly recommend for all those looking for a respite from the city."
